48 hours to answer
Every offer stays open for 48 hours from the moment it is sent. A counter-offer is a new offer, so it gets its own 48 hours. The offer card in the chat shows the hours left, for example Expires in 5 hours.
When the time runs out
The card reads Expired and can no longer be answered. The chat stays open, so you can keep talking, and the buyer can make a new offer.
Other things that close an offer
- The listing is marked sold. Every open offer on it closes.
- The seller lowers the price to the amount of an offer or below it. That offer closes, and the buyer is told.
- The seller makes the listing free. Every open offer on it closes.
- One of you blocks the other. Open offers between you close.
If a listing comes down because its time ran out, its open offers are put away. If the seller renews it, they come back, unless their 48 hours ran out in the meantime.
An accepted offer does not run out
Once an offer is accepted, the agreed price stands. It stays agreed even if the listing comes down and is renewed.
