What you cannot list

Ten groups that cannot be listed on Maltayard, and what happens if a listing is blocked.

Updated 30 October 2026

Some things cannot be listed on Maltayard at all. Every new listing is checked against these ten groups.

The ten groups

  1. Weapons and replicas. Guns, knives sold as weapons, airsoft, and anything made to look like a firearm.
  2. Fireworks. Murtali, petards and any pyrotechnic, including festa stock.
  3. Counterfeits. Copies sold as the real thing. Words like replica, AAA or inspired by do not make it allowed.
  4. Medicines. Prescription drugs, and supplements sold with a health claim.
  5. Live animals. No pets, livestock or birds. Rehoming is not a sale.
  6. Tobacco and alcohol. Cigarettes, vapes, shisha and any alcohol.
  7. Licensed trades. Gambling, lending, insurance and anything else that needs a licence we cannot check.
  8. Adult material. No pornography and nothing sexual in a photo.
  9. Documents and accounts. ID cards, licences, someone else’s tickets, and accounts for other services.
  10. Stolen goods. If it is not yours to sell, it is not a listing.

If your listing is blocked

You are told which rule it breaks and whether a person or the automated check decided. If you think we got it wrong, tap Ask us to look again, and a person on our team reads it.

The full rules are in our terms of use.
